Are you adventurous enough to explore a city armed with nothing but a unique app on your smart phone? Bollywood actress Esha Gupta did just that when she came to Delhi recently to launch the new Nokia City Lens app in the Nokia Lumia 900 phone.

The actress explored the city through the app that throws up information on options in dining, shopping and much more, by simply holding up the smartphone. So, what was it that Esha looked for when she first laid her hands on this phone? "Ab Delhi mein hoon toh it has to be food. That is the first thing I looked for when I got this phone, and you know what, I've located one Jai Mata Di Chaat Bhandar, where I'll be heading soon," said Esha, adding, "Delhi is such a huge city, every corner has a shopping place, eating joint, so this app comes in handy when you have less time but more to explore."

She recalled the time when she got a phone. "When I started driving, that was the time my parents made me keep a phone, but now it's a necessity. I can't imagine my life without a phone - especially a phone like Nokia Lumia."

Since Esha takes pride in being a Delhi girl, we asked her how her Delhi connect is helping her survive in the big bad world of Bollywood? "Dilli ki billi aise hi nahi bolte log, Dilli ki ladkiyon ko. A lot of it has got to do with the fact that this city is so unsafe for women. The city teaches you to be smart," Esha shared.
The actress also launched the unique Nokia initiative - the Nokia City Lens Point. Discover. Do (PDD) campaign. The campaign, launched online on September 25, will culminate with the City Lens Night Offs across three different metros on October 2. To participate, log on www.nokiacitylenspdd.com and answer multiple-choice, situational questions over 10 days. One winner will be selected from each city to party for one whole night in any one city she/he chooses.

"The essence of this activity is spontaneity. These three winners will later be asked to live it up one night spontaneously via City Lens and I look forward to joining the adventure with one of them," said Esha, who will be a part of the jury deciding the winners.

Esha Gupta denies stripping for ‘Raaz 3’! Reason, her beau!

Esha Gupta wasn’t hesitant talking about her strip scene in Raaz 3! Those who have seen the movie will know the scene where the actress gets attacked by cockroaches and she rips her clothes and runs naked in front of several people. Now the actress denies doing such scene.

In fact, during the promotions of Raaz 3, she went on to give detailed description of the scene and revealed that she was helped by Vikram BhattMahesh Bhatt and Bipasha Basu to accomplish the dare-bare act. There was also news about how she shot for a 20-minute-long kissing scene with her co-star Emraan Hashmi. As a tabloid reports, after all that hoo-ha, Esha has suddenly sprung a surprise and done a volte face by denying that she ever shot for any 'nude scene'. Incidentally, the recently released promo of the film shows her in the act.

Sources claim that the reason may be the actress’ dad. Apparently Esha’s father is quite upset with her for doing such scenes. However, there is another theory; it’s said that Esha’s beau Armaan Gujral, too, has expressed his reservations. Armaan -- a Delhi-based businessman -- is the son of the socialite and former model Feroze Gujral and is the grandson of the artist Satish Gujral. The veteran painter is former Indian Prime Minister I K Gujral’s brother.

As a source is quoted as saying, “Armaan and Esha had a showdown a few days ago. Esha Gupta is very serious about settling down with her beau and does not want to upset the Gujral family with her on screen intimate scenes.”

The news of Esha denying the nude scenes has reached the Bhatt camp. It’s said that the film’s entire crew is quite miffed with Esha Gupta because of her comments. According to them the audiences can clearly see that it is she who has shot for the scenes.

‘Raaz 3’ review: Bipasha Basu delivers a stupendous performance!

No matter what, if people are asked to point out the most striking feature of Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Raaz 3’, they would undoubtedly put their fingers on Shanaya Shekhar. Bipasha Basu performs the character with a finesse that one might – I admit – only hope to replicate, and perhaps succeed. But the woman sweeps you off your feet. Whether with her devilish laughter ringing in the ears long after one leaves the theatre or with the bloodshot eyes where all the raaz resides, Basu casts a spell with her Shanaya.

Shanaya Shekhar is the actress every producer dreams of roping in and every director aims at directing. In the film industry, Shanaya is the reigning star. Till Sanjana Krishna (Esha Gupta) forays into it. Three years after the entry of Sanjana, Shanaya becomes a producer’s choice – only if Sanjana denies signing a film. Aditya Arora (Emraan Hashmi) is a director who rises to fame, thanks to Shanaya (or so thinks the latter). Shanaya’s desire to ruin Sanjana makes her resort to black magic, and what ensues is ‘Raaz 3’.

The film stands out more for the acting of its cast than its other aspects, I daresay. Emraan Hashmi, by now, has been able to strike a chord with his audience. After a not-so-acclaimed Sonu Dilli KKC in ‘Jannat 2’ and an extremely well-received Joginder Parmar in ‘Shanghai’, Hashmi has managed to prove his detractors wrong. His acting skills are way more convincing now, and he manages to perform the Director-in-dilemma well enough – both when he is kissing and when he is not.

Esha Gupta has taken her performance several notches higher, but at times is overshadowed by the others. The fact that she is just one film old in the industry might work to her benefit, but her acting requires polishing. As the coy, shy, lovelorn Sanjana, Gupta is charming. Comparisons with the film’s predecessors are inevitable given that it is the third in the franchise. Esha performs way better than what Kangna did in ‘Raaz 2’, but Bipasha in the first one is undoubtedly the one who shines steadily among the trio of the damsels in distress.

The film’s technical aspects are commendable. Vikram Bhatt is the man who brought 3D horror films to the country, and in his third rendezvous with the technique, he has performed really well. After ‘Haunted 3D’ and ‘Dangerous Ishq’, the third film from the director is actually brilliant as far as the 3D is concerned. Several scenes stand out among the plethora of enlarged insects and objects flying towards the audience; and the one where Sanjana is attacked by innumerable cockroaches deserves a special mention. I’m not very scared of cockroaches as such, but henceforth when a cockroach flies at me, I might have to scream out loud.

Vishesh Films and the Bhatts have a way with the music in their films. Songs like ‘Rafta Rafta’ and ‘Deewana Kar Raha Hain’ will be hummed, sung and whistled by many people and for a long time to come. Bipasha in the title track is hot enough to fire your brains out.

For a person who isn’t scared easily, ‘Raaz 3’ wouldn’t be able to do much. However, it doesn’t have the used-and-abused clichés of blood running out of water taps and windows incessantly banging in the wind – and thank god for that. The film somewhere seems lacking something as far as the element of horror is concerned. Ample usage of the technology of 3D might have been able to make up for it at places, but sending chills down the spine all through is not what the film does.

Watch ‘Raaz 3’ for Bipasha and its 3D factor. The sheen of Shanaya wouldn’t disappoint you. And like Shanaya so confidently claims in the film, Bipasha too “was a star, is a star, and will always remain a star”.

Ratings: Three indomitable cheers for ‘Raaz 3’!

MISS INDIA ESHA GUPTA TO PLAY DE-GLAM ROLE!

Esha also disowns her sexy image. Director Vikram Bhatt very clearly instructed the newbie first seen in Jannat 2 opposite Emraan Hashmi, to wear dresses that don't reveal her cleavage, while Bipasha was instructed to....well, let it all hang out.

Explains Esha, "Cleavage is, I think, a very post-youth thing. I think showing the cleavage is more about displaying your physique to the world when you are no longer that young. Young girls are far too confident of their space to be insecure about the physicality. My director Vikram Bhatt and I decided that I'd wear casual conservative clothes because an average 20-something city girl dresses with no insecurity of not getting attention."

Bipasha plays the older actress and therefore all the aggressive skin show in Raaz 3 goes to her.

Says Esha, "I am extremely de-glam in the role. When I cry I allowed smudged makeup to be used. No half-measures in this film. Later, when I begin to get unwell because of the black magic being done on me by Bipasha's character, I did away with all makeup and used a pale look."
